I'm afraid we can't assist you in choosing the perfect iPod speaker, but if you are an MDC student, you have access to the subscription-based version of the Consumer Reports website through our LINCCWeb Databases. Perhaps you can use this resource to find reliable ratings of various iPod speakers. Good luck!
